The reasons I decided to pursue a career in the music industry are numerous. I grew up in a family where my Dad was a professional musician and, as such, music was a part of my life from the beginning. This also gave me a unique insight into musicians and the struggles they face trying to make a living in a business where artists, many times, simply do not understand the complexity of the industry. Growing up in Texas, where there are so many different musical influences, helped to develop my appreciation for all types of music and the artists who create that music. Although I have been a performing musician, my interest has always been in production and artist development where I feel that I can have a greater impact on the industry.
